Since I wasn't concerned about saving the top, it was damaged too much, I removed it while leaving the braces in place. This would give me a better idea of how the damage happened.
After removing the top, it was apparent that the bridge had taken a sever blow, causing the bracing to crack.
This must have been one heck of a blow, since the instrument was packed in a hard shell case inside a sturdy cardboard container.
The back, sides and neck are still in fine condition. The top will be replaced and she'll be refinished then she will be as good as new.
